2012 Jeep Liberty: Look and Drive

Hello fans,

Today I would like to talk about my findings when I test drove a 2012 Jeep Liberty Jet Edition. When I first stepped inside, I was greeted by a wealth of amenities, for example, the wood grain trim throughout the perimeter. When I started it up, it was apparent that this Liberty came with heated seats, Sirius satellite radio, and a moon roof.

When I started this puppy up I could feel the power it put off and knew I was in for a great ride. I was right! The ride was powerful and remarkably smooth. What impressed me the most was how the Liberty is priced right and was full of features. The price for a fully loaded, and I mean fully loaded cost roughly $26,500. A steal for the amount of amenities.

For more information on the Liberty, give us a call: (845)-225-8468 and mention how you saw my blog post on Tumblr.

The 2013 Dodge Dart to hit markets in the 2nd Quarter 2012

Dodge announced that it will launch a new entrant in the hotly contested compact sedan contestant, the 2013 Dart. As a replacement for the old and unloved Caliber, the Dart sedan will be Dodge’s smallest car and is intended to take on the best-selling compacts from America and Europe. Although official specifications likely won’t be revealed until the Detroit Auto Show in January, we decided to take a look at how the new Dodge sedan might stack up against other compact cars.

The 2013 Dart will be built on a chassis called Compact U.S. Wide (CUSW), which is a slightly longer and wider version of the platform used by Europe’s Alfa Romero Giulietta. Based on the specifications of the Giulietta hatchback, it seems that the Dart sedan will be sized to compete head-on with the top-selling compact cars in the U.S.

The Alfa Romero Giulietta measures 171.3 inches long, 70.8 inches wide, and 57.7 inches tall. If the CUSW platform is, say, eight inches longer than the Alfa chassis, that gives the Dart a similar footprint to its key rivals. The Ford Focus sedan measures 178.5 inches long and 71.8 wide, the Hyundai Elantra is 178.3 inches in length and 69.9 inches wide, the Chevrolet Cruze spans 181.0 inches in length and 70.7 inches in width, and the Volkswagen Jetta sedan is 182.2 inches long and 70.0 inches wide. The Dodge Dart, then, would be almost exactly the same size as those compact cars.

As to weight, the Giulietta weighs between 2816 and 2904 pounds depending on trim and engine choice. We can expect the Dart to pack on a few more pounds, because it will be larger than the Alfa and also will probably have more safety gear to meet American regulations. Still, the Dart likely won’t be considerably heavier than its extant competition. The Ford Focus sedan weighs 2907 to 2935 pounds, the Chevrolet Cruze scales at between 3082 and 3143 pounds, and the Volkswagen Jetta weighs 2804 to 3210 pounds, depending on specification. The Hyundai Elantra is a comparatively featherweight 2661 to 2877 pounds.

The big deciding factors will likely be power and fuel economy. Dodge has announced two new inline-four engines called “Tigershark” for the Dart, displacing 2.0 and 2.4 liters respectively. The Dart also will feature a Fiat-sourced turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-four; in the Giulietta, that engine is rated for 170 hp at 5500 rpm and 184 lb-ft of torque at 2500 rpm. Alfa says a Giulietta so equipped sprints to 62 mph in just 7.8 seconds and returns the equivalent of 41 mpg in combined driving.

The key metric there is the 41-mpg claim. It’s now becoming almost a requirement for compact sedans to achieve that magical number in EPA highway testing. Compact sedans that currently hit that mark include the Mazda 3 SkyActiv, Chevrolet Cruz Eco, Hyundai Elantra, and Ford Focus SFE. One other important note: Dodge’s new parent compact, Fiat, has long promised to launch a small, Fiat- or Alfa-based car in the U.S. that returns at least 40 mpg on the highway.

We’re also excited to get behind the wheel of the Dodge Dart because it is supposed to retain much of the fun, engaging driving experience we loved in the Euro-market Giulietta. Can Dodge’s new small sedan really inject a blend of power, fun, economy, and style into the compact sedan class? We’ll find out when we get a chance to drive the 2013 Dart sometime next year.

I’m as excited as you are about this very luxurious and fuel efficient vehicle. We will have more updates about when we expect to receive one very soon

Very Truly yours,

Improve your credit

Too often, we see customers who need a new (or newer) car, and their credit score hurts them.  They either get turned down completely, or are required to pay a higher interest rate .  We have decided to do something about it.   Meadowland of Carmel (a member of the Volz Auto Group) has partnered with “Recreditpair”  . This is a self-help guide to allow our customers to improve their lives.   Everyone agrees a properly paid car loan will definitely help you in many ways.   This program is a no-nonsense, easy, no-gimmick approach for improving your credit score.

The nice part it’s free and totally secure.  Why pay hundreds or even thousands to some company when you can do it yourself  for free?  Many people have the misunderstanding, that they are no able to look at their report for a variety of reasons: they are not allowed, it will hurt them to look, etc.  As a result, they have learned to put their head in the sand, and ignore it.  This is total  NONSENSE!   It is your personal information, and you have the right to know, and the right to act to change.  Sounds challenging, yes?    I hope so.  Ready for this part?  IT’S EASY!

What’s in it for us, you may ask?   We firmly believe that if we can help your credit,  hopefully, you will buy a car from us. Simple. No pressure, no hype.  Follow the link below to get started.  If you don’t like following links, simply go to our website: www.MeadowlandOfCarmel.com then go to the bottom of the home page.  Any questions?  call me at the dealership: 845-225-8468

The 2011 St. Jude Car Wash results

Last weekend was wonderful to hold a car wash and the customers poured in like wild fire. We washed approximately 30 vehicles and beat the donation amount from last year. I personally would like to thank Joe Verde and his family for holding the car wash and Kenny Kepler and Kenn Volz for the use of the materials and the facility. It was an awesome event and we had a ton of Happy customers who were glad to know 100% of the proceeds went to a phenomenal cause.

Here are some shots from the 2nd Annual Car Wash:

Clean Honda looking great wheel service done personally by Joe Verde himself.

PT Cruiser getting a bath

Kristina Verde and mom Laurie washing the Hazzardmobile

This is just some of the many vehicles that came through. We can’t thank all of the customers, and employees for all of their work to make this the best St.Jude Car Wash yet!

Dodge Journey Give away!!!!!

Yup,  you read right.  Dodge has released a new national ad campaign and contest for finding a hidden Dodge Journey.  Starting today and running through Sept. 27th, 2011, you can find clues in new Dodge Journey commercials on TV and online at www.youtube.com/dodge. The ads begin with three different Dodge Journeys on adventures and ending at different locations: one in the West, Midwest and East.  Over the next two weeks, Dodge will continue to release more clues on commercials and youTube as well as a live 24/7 video feed of the hidden Dodge Journeys. So why the Dodge Journey?  The Journey has been touted as a perfect ride for adventurists and highlights an incredible trim package but starts at only $19,745 for a base model Dodge Journey.  Last year, the Dodge Journey ranked 2 out of 9 in the USA Today/Cars.com shootout for affordable crossover. Dodge Challenger R/T

So…. who wants to talk “Dodge”? Well apparently you do because you are reading my post. I want to focus this week on the types of challengers on the market: those you know about and those you probably don’t know about. Today, we are going to go in depth and talk about the R/T(Road and Track) Challenger. The first Challenger was introduced to us in 1978 as a Pony Car first generation. This only lasted a few years and flopped, reintroduced a second time and it flopped again. They say the third time is the charm and, personally, I think it is. In 2008, Dodge came back out with the Challenger which gleans all of the modern day features you would expect this vehicle to have. The R/T Challenger packs 375 horses in a 5.7L Hemi V8 engine. This vehicle can go 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. The Challenger offers up a lot of interior space in addition to the power delivered under the hood. For instance, you will see up to 42 inches of leg room, 40 inches of head room, and 58 inches of shoulder room. The trunk in the challenger is roomy as well, boasting 16.2 cubic feet.

Overall on a personal standpoint: I was able to ride around in the 2011 Challenger when we had it on our lot. People are snagging them at every chance they get. Why? Much more horsepower and more bells and whisltes then previous models. I like how the Ram logo was replaced with the sporty “new” Dodge logo. In addition to the abundance of space inside and the acceleration to MPH.

2011 Models available: SE, Rallye, R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Classic, and 392 SRT8.

Stay with us…. tomorrow we will talk about a vehicle that is new to hit the market and not too many people know about it.
